much-praised american film makers the coen brothers produced a comedy in which (in short, partly cited) a certain 'dude' lebowski, mistaken for a millionaire lebowski, seeks restitution for his ruined rug and enlists his bowling buddies to help him out of the confusing adventures he happens to get into. the movie is accompanied by some songs which usually have no link to the scene going on. one of the first tracks of the musical setting appears to be beefheart's HER EYES ARE A BLUE MILLION MILES from 'clear spot'! with this it is the only movie ever - till now - with a song by captain beefheart and the magic band....

in great britain....

however, although the film is funny enough to have it on video or dvd, that's not the best choice if you want to hear van vliet's ballad in full glory - because much of the music is reproduced at such a low volume it hardly can be heard. in this case: when 'her eyes' is played, the song is completely pushed away by the messages on the answer phone the main actor is listening to. so, if you're interested, tápe the movie when it is shown on teevee, and gét one of the 'original soundtrack' items.
